Re: [cobalt-users] source of panel-utils

Hello,

> Isn't the LCD port a PC compatible Parallel printer port?

Not every time. From the kernel Configure.help, we have:

Front panel LCD support
CONFIG_COBALT_LCD
This enables support for the Cobalt Networks front panel. This is for
the LCD panel and buttons. The primary method for connection is via
the parallel port (IO base 0x370), but newer systems use an I2C bus.

Altough my query is not for the device driver, as this seems to bee ok
with the kernel patch I have found, but more on the userland tools. I
want to use the panel-utils tools for controling the LCD and use the
buttons (from a debian installed system).

So, of course, if we can have other tools, I will also be happy.

Good day.
