To uninstall "Chili", you need to execute the POOP command. That will expel
it from your system. :-)
I recommend NOT deleting it. Sure it takes up space, about 100megs or so,
but what if you want it in the future? I would suggest turning it off in
the control
panel.
Front page does NOT run, it is not a daemon like Chilisoft. So nothing to
turn
off there. Issue a "ps -ef" or "ps -aux" to see what is running. Then you
can
do such things as:
/etc/rc.d/init.d/<daemonname> stop
then to geminately turn it off
chkconfig --level 3 <daemon_name> off
chkconfig --level 5 <daemon_name> off
BTW, do not go crazy with the chkconfig until you know your system is
working still! If you are NOT proficient in Linux, DO NOT ... I repeat,
DO NOT go turning things off without knowing what they are. Use Cobalt's
control panel to turn off the services you do NOT want running. That should
assist you in your search for more resources. Also, if you really want more
RAM. Go to your local PC store, and pick up some PC-100 SDRAM.
That will work on a RaQ 4.
To reiterate, TURN OFF, do NOT uninstall applications. But, if you really
really want to.
rpm -qa | grep name ... for example:
[root /root]# rpm -qa | grep chili
chiliasp-3.6.2C.PKG-2
So, one would then do
rpm -e chiliasp-3.6.2C.PKG-2
That will uninstall it ... BECAREFUL BECAREFUL BECAREFUL
BECAREFUL.
Enjoy!
