Perl isn't a daemon, so it doesn't run constantly - IOW, no, it's not
running, but that's not a problem.
Are you command-line savvy? Try this:
~ $ perl -v
On our Qube3, I get this:
This is perl, version 5.005_03 built for i386-linux
...and some more license and documentation stuff.
If you search the archives, Bruce once posted instructions for installing
a newer version of Perl outside the "normal" path so it wouldn't break
your GUI, but if you don't need to, so much the better.
