I believe the line
;extension=mysql.so
in /etc/httpd/php.ini needs the leading ';' removed (and then reload
httpd) to actually enable the MySQL functionality. Go figure why it
wasn't done from the beginning...
While you're in there, you might want to uncomment the PostgreSQL and
IMAP options too... :)
