I've tried searching the list archives for this but I can't find anything
that seems to match what I'm seeing here.
Since a couple of days ago some of my virtual site log files have stopped
being created by the overnight cron job. The /var/log/httpd/access file is
growing normally and shows many thousands of hits for the affected virtual
sites, but the log files in /home/sites/sitexx/logs are last dated 05:27
(roughly the time the job normally stops) on Feb 7th.
I have run manually as root /etc/cron.daily/logrotate this morning, but it's
not made any difference.
Can someone please tell me how I can manually get the virtual site log files
to catch up?
I don't know if this is related but since yesterday lunchtime my mail server
has been bombarded (2-3 mails per second) with a dictionary SPAM attack to
one of my domains. So far 60,000+ mails sent (and thankfully refused). Could
this be holding things up?
Regards,
Tim Skipper
