Greetings Folks,
I spent a good deal of time trying to scour the archives regarding POP
before SMTP on a RaQ4 and ended up just getting more confused. We turned POP
before SMTP on on RaQ last Friday and when I came back in to work on Monday,
I found the SMTP server dead. After a few reboots, etc I finally turned off
the POP before SMTP and the SMTP server came back to life. Not thinking that
the actual problem was with the POP before SMTP I turned it back on... Only
to watch my SMTP server die almost immediately. Turned POP before SMTP off
again and I've been running smoothly since. We're hosting about 15 low-usage
sites so I really can't believe that the SMTP server is getting overloaded
and shutting itself down... The RaQ is fully patched and up to date with the
only outside packages being from pkgmaster, SSH and the latest OpenWebmail.
Anyone have any thoughts? I don't see anything really odd in the logs.
Thanks.
