[cobalt-users] Apache corruption issue

Hi all,
I am having a frustrating problem with Apache on my Cobalt Raq3 and was
hoping someone had experience with this.

Recently I had been doing a package upgrade of Apache and SSL from the web
browser when the install progress indicator (on the bottom frame) just
stopped. No 'success' message, nor was I prompted to reboot. After rebooting
manually I was unable to log onto the admin page at all. The live webserver
was toast as well.

When trying to start-up the webserver (on both cases) I get various warnings
that mod_something.so is not found in httpd.conf. When I comment that out
and attempt to startup, it just lists the next mod file as not found.
Eventually, after commenting everything out, the live webserver will start,
but the admin will not (it says ahttpd dead but susbsys locked). And guess
what, I cannot find any Apache modules anywhere on the box!

Thinking Apache somehow got corrupted, I have manually uninstalled all the
Apache packages from the command line, then downloaded them again and
installed them in /home/packages using the cobalt_install command. Each case
the install goes through without error. However, the mods are still missing!

Has anyone run into this problem before? My Linux and Cobalt knowledge,
while decent, has mostly been learned from reading posts from this list. So,
'making' Apache from the ground up is out of the question, I don't have the
skills. By the way, if this helps, Cobalt support claimed that because I had
Webalizer installed I had invalidated my warranty. They said that was why
everything was screwed up. Webalizer was pre-packaged by my ISP and I have
never used it in over a year and a half???

Any help would be appreciated!!
