[cobalt-users] The continuing battle

I still can't decide if this is cobalt weirdness or a hack

so far the /var/spool/mail directory disappeared yesterday  - now fixed

then tonight I discover that the siteManage directory had disappeared - now
fixed thanks to cobalt-aid script plus a bit of tweaking

but now I also see that on most sites the email alias has gone - being fixed

Most important though all the sites now ask for a username and password - if
you give it the admin one you get to the site as normal but there is not
htaccess in the web directory so it must be global but where is it?

any ideas?
