Did you manually create a cert for /home/sites/home ?
You might want to save these files someplace first.
httpd on startup looks for SSL sites by checking /home/sites/siteX/certs
rm /home/sites/home/certs/*
then restart httpd See if that will help.

If the server and the domain have the same ip address, it can cause a
problem.
