Nothing in the archives on this. Hoping someone has an answer.
How do the Frontpage extensions on a Raq4 work with respect to document
check-in/check-out?
The standard installation uses "webmaster" as the UID with permissions
to update the main FP web on a site. But what about group collaboration?
If the FP extensions on the RaQ utilize, say, the IP address as the unique
identifier in a session, then two people could login to the site with
document security turned on - both with UID "webmaster" - and work in
tandem, without worrying about multiple versions. (In theory, anyway...)
However, if it uses the UID as the unique identifier, then the concept of
collaboration using frontpage is just that - a concept - and using FP
with this intention becomes frickin' useless.
Anyone know?
Is there a way to allow a second UID to access the Frontpage web?
TIA
Regards,
-jf.
