There was a lengthy thread on Slashdot about a week ago regarding all
the internet-only features Intuit is putting into all their products
(QB, TurboTax, Quicken, etc), forcing you to use more and more
services that they provide... eerily similar to Hailstorm, Passport,
etc from "That Other Company"...
Intuit now also expires tax tables in their products, so you cannot go
back and recalculate previous years statements/invoices/returns/etc
if needed. _And_ they charge a fee every year for new tables, and
don't provide a way for you to update them yourself even if you are
so inclined...
All in all, they are forcing their users to get on the treadmill just
like Redmond. I don't know what alternatives exist though...
