Hi,
I'm in the process of transferring my domain to a new server.
The hosts of my current server have my domain listed on their
nameservers (hence I've never had to deal with this before).
But in my new server, the cobalt acts as it's own nameserver.
At first I thought straightforward enough. When I email the registrar to
transfer the domain, I tell them to register the nameservers.
But here's what's confusing me:
The server has one IP.
When the ISP sent me the confirmation letter they provided, the only
information they provided is as follows:
"nameserver addresses:
ns.domain.name an.I.P.address
ns2.domain.name
"
You need two nameservers for the domain. But I only have one physical
nameserver. Will the registrar accept a secondary nameserver without an
IP? Alternatively, can I use the same IP for the secondary DNS?
Am I missing something here? Am I supposed to look for someone to host
my secondary domain?
<confused>
