RE: [cobalt-users] Sorry new thread - FrontPage ext problem

Hi,

I have had so many problems with front page ( never liked it and never will ) but some of my client like it :-(

It sounds as if you have not a copy ? if you selling the space get one as it the only way you can test and upload any site you need
to move etc.

using ftp.domain name is just FP's way of FTP as you have found out

always use http://www..... if it does not work then you have a problem

what I did is always miss the tick in the user - tick site admin always needs a crown FP needs not only you set it up in site
settings but also you need to tick use front page in a user also and I am guessing you have not don this ???

fileor directory

I am trying to use the FrontPage extensions for my server. I have turned
them on and set the "webmaster" password. However, when FrontPage users try
to use FrontPage they can't get into the server with http://www.domain.com.
They can, however, use ftp://www.domain.com. But, they can't use the
username "webmaster". They have to use their regular username password
combination. That means that they get put into their
/home/sites/siteNumber/users/userName directory and cannot upload to
/home/sites/siteNumber/web. I need for them to get into this directory
directly.

How do I fix FrontPage Extension to work or get them into the web directory?

Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks,

Rodney
