Hi all,
I just wanted to take a chance to step in to answer and clarify some of the
questions regarding the Xoasis Networks Server Appliance thread.
Q. Is this a gigabyte hardware platform? (someone had supplied a gigabyte
link)
A. No --- The case and LCD panel are provided by a group called MSI -- the
main board and add-on components are sourced through other channels. Final
unit construction is completed in the United States.
Q. The product is only certified to run under windows?
A. I am not sure how this came up but we fully warrantee the hardware
platforms and software on a BSD base and NOT a Windows base. Another
manufacturer might be using a similar case and a different main board which
is certified under Windows and selling it as a bare-bones server, however
that is not our product.
Q. Is this really a server appliance?
A. I noticed someone mentioning this was not an appliance platform. I can't
help but disagree in terms of our product. The hardware is that of a durable
1u server and shows the performance of a durable 1u server. The software
loaded on the machine is customized for the operating environment and has
all of the similar features you would expect from a Server Appliance
including LCD base configuration, web based management, etc.
Q. Can I do network settings via headset?
A. Yes -- Our first product which was a strong white-box seller for several
private label distributors in and out of Europe and Asia did not include an
LCD control panel, initial setup was done via keyboard/monitor or via a
LABTEC USB mic/headphone combination device. This feature is included in the
current KTX2 product as well.
Q. Is this product available through normal distribution channels?
A. Look for the product in Bell Micro, Tech Data, and Ingram within 60-days
this version is new to market and the KTX1-1 (predecessor) was only
available through Bell and several US, EU, and Asia-Pacific dealers.
Q. Support???
A. All customers receive multiple-dedicated-support contacts for 24 hour
service.
I've spoken with several of you on the phone and via e-mail. I am not a
sales rep, I am the Xoasis Networks founder and President. I am standing
behind my product and would be happy to speak with anyone who has questions
or comments, please feel free to call me in my office at 206-255-6343 to
just chat or answer any questions.
Thanks much,
