[cobalt-users] Starting the IRCU Deamon (RaQ3)

Heya Folks,

I've been having trouble getting this to work all morning, and I'm  not 
sure what I'm doing wrong or if I'm just being daft :-p

I've downloaded and installed ircu from:
	ircu.sourceforge.net
I've done everything as per the instructions in the readme file (... 
configure, make, make install ...)
The problem I have now is that I can't get the deamon to run ("ircd").

If I run it as root it tells me that it should not be run as root,
but if I run it as any other user, it simply tells me that I don't have 
permission to access the correct directories :-/

What am I doing wrong ?
