Is the domain causing the conflict have a 'tld' other than
.com, .net, ,org?
I have seen where the GUI can't correctly handle, for example, ".name"
It screws up the virtusertable.

You might try changing the domain again, then run
makemap hash /etc/mail/virtusertable < /etc/mail/virtusertable
and look for errors
