[cobalt-users] RE: Relaying denied

What is your DNS settings?
Do you have an A record for mail.domain.com pointing to an IP
and
MX records for:

domain.com pointing to mail.domain.com
domain.com pointing to domain.com

If not, try to add same.

Hi all

Just to go from my previous email regarding relaying denied - thanks for all
your input.

I have been looking at the sendmail web site and it says
<snip>
As of sendmail version 8.9, forwarding of SMTP messages is not permitted by
default. For example, if you are on site A.COM, you will not accept mail
from B.NET destined for C.ORG without special arrangements.
The simplest approach is to list the domains you are willing to relay in the
file /etc/mail/relay-domains. Anything listed in this file will be accepted
for relaying. N.B.: Sendmail must be restarted after this file is modified.
</snip>

I am running, I believe Sendmail 8.10.2 which the above relates too.

In checking my files I do not have a file called relay-domains. Does anyone
else have this file that they could copy (obviously taking out any sensitive
data) and would it mean just dropping this file into the folder after adding
a list of the domains that I want to relay out of the system and restarting
sendmail

Thanks

Ray
