Just a quick question that someone hopefully can answer:
I am running Mailscanner on my RAQ4 which is working perfectly.
Even though my Email Server appears to be off in the GUI (required for
MailScanner to work) the facility of POP before SMTP appears to be working
fine.
What I want to do is to allow only the Domains on my server to be able to
send mail through the RAQ to outside destinations.
As I have already stated this works fine if they collect first and then
send - using the POP before SMTP.
Correct me if I'm wrong but if you put the clients Domain name in the "Relay
for the following Hosts/Domains" this allows the Domain user to send mail
without collecting first.
If this is correct then as my Domain for the RAQ is already in this box why
can't I send mail out of the system unless I collect first.
Do I need to do anything to enable/start/accept the setting as technically
the email server is off.
Where does it store the settings ?
I have checked etc/mail/access and both my Domain name & RAQ IP number are
there with the word RELAY at the end. So I do not understand why I cannot
send mail through my RAQ (I can send it to another Domain held on the RAQ
OK)
Everything else is working fine - delivery of email / forwarding of email
etc.
What have or have not done ?
Any comments greatly appreciated
