It is only the built in NIC card on my cobalt. Do I insert the CD into my
computer and boot from it with the cobalt hard drive still in the qube or do
I put the Qube hard drive in my computer and then boot from the CD?

Full instructions there.  You boot off of your PC, connect to your cobalt
via
a cross cable (ethernet) and away you go!
