Main difference between 3 and 3i is the 2nd ethernet port and the
external SCSI connector.
Early RaQ 3 mobo's had one connector. Later ones (as RaQ 4r was being
ramped up) had both...
I don't know about the support chip though; if it was the same in both
mobos even though the 2nd IDE connector might have been clipped...
