Hello Gerald,
Again thanks for your help.
The onboard Intel-NIC is dying - so it's not the tulip card. The tulip is
just a replacement for the broken onboard-eth1 and it's working fine.
Is there a problem with the intel driver ?

That looks OK
Try gettting a later tulip driver.
Whos' NIC card are you using?
Go to their site and find the latest driver
