RE: [cobalt-users] Qube3 Remote VPN

I haven't had a chance to check on specifics on the Micro$oft site yet, but
I known for sure that Windows XP handles VPN, firewalls, and NATS a whole
lot better than Windows 2000 does.

Which MSKB articles did you refer to to make the changes? Maybe I might be
able to spot something for you and/or dig some info out of my network of
resources for you.

James Nesbitt

Subject: [cobalt-users] Qube3 Remote VPN

Hi,

I'm working with a client on the Qube3 Mobile VPN issue. He has multiple
locations where he is connecting to. When he connects from his WinXP
Machine he is able to get in and work on his intranet with no problems at
all. However, when he tries from his Win2000 machines (tried multiple), it
either allows him in but he is unable to do anything (can't ping any
servers, or even the router), or he gets the following error: "Error 781 -
Encryption attempt failed because no valid certificate was found".

I did a search for that error and most of them just recommend making a few
small changes to the win2000 OS, but that didn't help.

Has anyone else experienced anything like this, or could possibly shed some
light on the subject?

Thanks,

Eric
