[cobalt-users] [RaQ4] SSL cert on main site?

Hi. Silly question time.

On page 123 of the RaQ4 User Manual, talking about a SSL certificate for the main site, it says:

"The main site certificate request is propagate to all virtual sites that have SSL enabled but do not have their own certificate request."

What's that all about?

Is this some hackery by which I can have https for other virtual sites, even though they're on the same IP, using the cert for the main site? This seems nutty, since the names wouldn't match. (but in my current limited IP situation, this would save me from SO much symlink insanity.)

If it doesn't actually propagate the cert, just the request, what is the point of this feature?
