[cobalt-users] Experiencing high load on cobalt raq4 and then system is being crashed

Hi

     Last 3 days i am experiencing high load in our
cobalt raq4 server at a pariticular time. The load
fluctuates 10 mints approx. in between high and low.
Then suddenly it becomes too high and get crashed.
That time i watched that two cron jobs runs. In
between two, one process runs everyday during that
time. The other process runs every mints. The cron
process which runs everyday at that time is like as
follows:

##18 * * * * /usr/bin/perl -e 'use lib
"/usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.005"; use FAQ
::OMatic::maintenance;
FAQ::OMatic::maintenance::cronInvoke("www.XXX.com",
80,
"/faq/fom.cgi?cmd=maintenance&secret=a54e2009ffa0");'

But this process is running more than 3 months. So
suddenly what i feel it will not be the problem? 
But last night while i going through the file
/var/log/httd/error , i found that 10 mints ahead of
system crash - MaxClient were reached above the limit.
Messages is like as follows:

[Wed Dec 11 04:22:32 2002] [error] server reached
MaxClients setting, consider r
aising the MaxClients setting
[Wed Dec 11 04:25:37 2002] [error] (32)Broken pipe:

Further checking of this error file i found that mysql
connection was also disconnected , though  mysql was
running, i checked it because it runs in a seperate
server.

DBI->connect(XXX_forum:server.mmm.net) failed: Lost
connection to MySQL
server during query at /XXX/admin/GT/SQL/Dr
iver.pm line 83

httpd.conf setting for few parameters  is like as
follows:

MaxKeepAliveRequests 0
KeepAliveTimeout 15
MinSpareServers 5
MaxSpareServers 8
StartServers 5
MaxClients 300
MaxRequestsPerChild 15000

This much info i am giving . If anyone needs more
info, i will provide immediately. Urgent help is
highly appreciated.
