Presumably, if it's set up properly.

You've probably got a file called /etc/rc.d/rc3.d/S90mysql or similar
(the number after the "S" could be different.
Just rename it to K90mysql and safe_mysqld won't run at startup
anymore. To get it to run at startup again, just rename it back.
