It's a hungry app. I'd advise maxing out RAM at 1/2 GB if possible. I
wouldn't want ImageMagick to generate images on the fly, especially on a
high-traffic site, but if it generates thumbnails one-time for each image,
especially if that's done offline via a cron job you shouldn't have worries
unless you're generating tens of thousands of thumbnails at a time and/or it
takes an excessive amount of time to do and performance is effected. FYI,
if you did want to generate images on the fly you'd probably want to look
into the Apache module for ImageMagick and compile it as a DSO and load it
in Apache.

I've had no problems with it. I wouldn't advise installing a development
version or anything too experimental.
