I suppose if one overwrote the wrapper file used by smrsh that's true, but
otherwise I can't think of any conflict between the two.  They both can be
running on the same server.  In fact, you could have many installs of each
on the same server if you had the need.

Mailman has its own GUI and is written in Python so integrating with the
Cobalt GUI written in Perl would probably be clunky and of little benefit.
It'd probably be better just to remove references to the mailing lists in
the GUI and remove Majordomo and provide clients with access to Mailman as
needed.  YMMV.
