Personally, I like SmartList; it's a little geeky, but it doesn't muck
around with all that annoying web-based configuration nonsense - if I wanted
to screw around with a web browser to administer a mailing list, I'd use a
web-based forum and be done with it.

Ok, editorial over. SmartList can easily be installed without using the
GUI (use adduser to create the user, and whatever you do do NOT update the
system version of procmail; SmartList can use the latest version without
mucking with /usr/bin/procmail), and works just peachie. It's written in C
(procmail, I mean) which makes it really efficient on low-hardware machines
(I'm running a whole bunch of lists on a 32 meg RaQ3i with no problems
whatsoever - no loading bloated invocations of perl or python every time mail
shows up), and if you know procmail you can do pretty much _anything_ with
your lists.
