Re: [cobalt-users] Installing Imagemagick on RAQ4

Hi,

I have installed it on a couple of RaQs .. no fear of killing your config.
though it is not as easy as sit back and watch ;o)

You will need to obtain the different libs to support some of the different
formats .. once you have managed that .. then it is a sit back want watch
installation.

see the section MAGICK DELEGATES .. and read the Install of each of them,
all should go ok.

Kind regards,
Jake.

Hi y'all,

I'm considering installing ImageMagick on a RAQ4 as it is required for a
couple of PHP applications which I would like to run.

As very much a newbie to this I wonder if anyone else has installed this
app and whether there are any pitfalls?

I presume I upload the tar file to /src/somewhere and then install It from
there: the IM installation page indicates I just type ./configure and sit
back and watch it happen :) Is it really that easy? I really don't want to mess up the
RAQ configuration!

Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.

As you can probably guess I have very litle experience of Linux - so far
I've been lucky enough to get along with just the RAQ control panels :)

I'm working my way through this huge volume which says it's the Red Hat
Linux Administrators Guide so I guess I'll get there eventually but it is
a slow process as I'm also working my way through MySQL and PHP4 as I'm
having to write some basic database driven web pages.

At least it keeps me off the streets.

Cheers,

Neil
