It should work fine. I've got several set up like that on a raq 4 with no
problems.

Subject: [cobalt-users] Subdomains as seperate virtual sites
Hi,
I have a virtual site (www.mydomain.tld) but would also like to create
two additional virtual sites (www2.mydomain.tld and www3.mydomain.tld)
but the trouble is the GUI will not allow multiple virtual sites to be
added with the same domain name even if they have unique 'host' names.
I can do this by following Gerald's post from ealier this year
(http://list.cobalt.com/pipermail/cobalt-users/2002-February/063327.html
) and creating a custom httpd conf to handle the virtual site, but I
need the additional subdomain virtual sites to be normal virtual sites,
accessible and configurable by seperate site admins via the RaQs GUI.
I have also got close to what I want with the instructions at
http://www.uk2raq.com/raqfaq/raqfaqshow.php?faq=62 by adding the
subdomain as part of the domain name in the GUI's 'add virtual site'
page but a 'host' name is also required and I don't want something like
www.subdomain.mydomain.tld, I just want a nice clean
subdomain.mydomain.tld :-)
Is what I want, possible? Or should I forget about GUI management for
them and follow the custom httpd conf method?
Thanks for any wisdom you can share,
Steven Young
