I never tried it , but it may be possible.... Although it is damn difficult to 
do anything with the Cobalt partitions. As system dependent executables are 
all over the damn place.

Try and umount the /home partition, you have to damn near shut the server 
down.

Linux partitions are there for a reason other than storing stuff!
The idea is that you can mount, umount, format, resize a partition.The Cobalt 
partition scheme is horrible to begin with.

Moving stuff from /usr/local to /home/local makes it worse. Granted it is a 
solution for the mess that the partitions on a Cobalt system are in,
and thanks to Steve Bassi for writing it.
