Has anybody upgraded their DNS to a newer version? I have a Qube3 at work

this is and I would like to know if anybody has done it.

8.3.3 is no problem (easy to compile and install)
9.x.x is a little more difficult, but has good documentation.

8.3.3 will work with the DNS GUI, not sure about 9.x.x

8.3.3 is still vulnerable to the recently discovered hacks. I've just
read that you need 8.3.4 (if that animal exists), or higher.

I know!
but As I understand It if you limit recursion you are somewhat protected
and it you upgrade to 9.x.x you are OK!

Hi Gerald,

I'm sure you know, but your email made it look like an upgrade to 8.3.3 would fix it and I was hoping to prevent someone the hassle of upgrading to 8.3.3 thinking it would fix it. I'm a newbie in this world of cobalts and was just hoping to contribute in some small way for all the help I've received.

BTW, I'm aware you know more than I ever will and you've probably forgotten more than I will ever know in this field. It's not my focus. Just want to let you know I really appreciate your helpfulness and others like you.
