I think a LOT of folks are in the same place. Nothing like telling your
customer base to take a hike (g).

I guess I'm used to small business, where a customer is an asset that you
work hard not to loose.

How did they tell the customer to 'take a hike' ?
RaQ4's are based on an AMD K6 processor, which hasn't been manufactured for over 2 years now. What exactly did you expect Sun to do ?
