It sounds like the only thing running is network services and the ipstack.
Did this RaQ have security software on it, firewall, SSH with telnet off, Did
you have all unused services shutdown, all unused ports closed.
You may hve been hacked.
You may have a hard drive problem, you may have a memory problem
After the reboot, could you still ping it?
