I'm a major postnuke user.... What module for stats are you using?
The chances are that the module file permissions aren't the problem it's
more likely the directory permissions.
I generally just setup a nuke site on my server under the user that
httpd runs under (probally httpd but might also be apache, see
etc/httpd/conf for user), therefore having no problems with the user
access system
