i'm getting this error when i send mail from one of my domains to domains on
a certain UK ISP (demon).
i've searched the archives and the web and this is what i've figured...
the ISP is being very stringent on accepting mail and doing reverse IP
lookups on my domain.
my domain (domain.com) is hosted on one of my RaQ4s (ns.nameserver.com).
when the ISP does the reverse lookup, it gets the result nameserver.com not
domain.com since i only have one PTR record for the main nameserver.com
domain.
as far as i can see, i could add a reverse record for domain.com without
breaking anything.
however, i don't think this would work as the reverse lookup would just pick
up the first record it found (i.e. nameserver.com).
is there anyway round this? or is this just the ISP being over-paranoid on
receiving mail? any suggestions would be mucho appreciated.
cheers!
