Yes, you are correct.
Any ideas, I don't want to get on any spam cops database. Actually, are
there any public dbases which show known spammers, so that I may check to
se
if my domain is listed.
Most of the anti-spam groups I've run in to are smart enough to recognize
a "joe job" (that is, spammers attempting to shift the blame) when they
see one. Generally, "Received" lines in the headers are the only accepted
evidence, and even then only the IP addresses are used; one traces back
from your computer until finding a received line which is "untrusted". I
wouldn't worry TOO much about being blacklisted by this spew.
However, one good place to check your IP against multiple black lists is
<http://relays.osirusoft.com/cgi-bin/rbcheck.cgi?addr=> where you follow
"addr=" with your IP number. (Don't panic if you're blocked by xbl.selwerd.
cx; they're widely viewed as the most reactionary on the 'net, and it's a
wonder they get any email at all. We're listed there, apparently because
our netblock goes through Sprint at some point, though it's hard to tell.)
