Brian,

All those things that you state are the reasons I bought one but IT
STILL DOES NOT WORK! Let me rephrase that... It turns on and I can
access it but I can't seem to do simple things like send e-mail from
it. Maybe I am doing something wrong and I need a picture book withstep
by step instructions????

The most recent thing that someone has come up with is that the SOA
serial number is low (it is) and needs to be reset to a higher number
but no one seems to know how to do this on a raq550. Do you?

Your help would be appreciated.

John

John,

Well ... If you are getting it to boot, and can configure it. I would look
at some of the processes, and logs to see why you are not sending email and
what not. As far as the Serial number. Well, I noticed with my upgrade,
the
S/N no longer exists. (The cmos tool no workie now). That is okay, for if
I have any problems, I usually just scrap them anyways.

Only suggestion that I have, is to plug in a null modem cable into Comport 1
and watch the entire upgrade process. Make sure that it finishes it out
100%. The problem that I had faced, was when it rebooted, I unplugged it
from
the Server (with the restore cd), and it did not like that to well. Once I
realized my mistakes, I had NO problems, and even upgrade a few of them
(Only
Raq 4rs though. I did not want to try it on just a Raq 4i.

Thanks,

Brian.
