G'day all..
Some of you might remember discussions between a bunch of other people
here about starting up a project to initially provide GPL'ed (up to
date) packages for current Cobalt owners, then eventually making our
own distribution for the machines.
Sourceforge have finally accepted the project!
You can check it out at:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/qbalt/
I've started up a developers mailing list here, if you wish to
subscribe, join here:
http://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/qbalt-developers
The first thing I suggest doing is making up some RPM's for current
systems (RAQ4/XTR in particular) for packages asked for a lot on this
list - i.e. latest PHP, latest OpenSSL, latest Apache, etc. Discussing
exactly how we're going to go around creating/maintaining this
alternative distrib would be a good start.
Once things start happening, I'll form a -users list too - it just
doesn't seem relevant yet.
Hope to see you on the list ;-)
