RE: [cobalt-users] RaqPort seems to be dumping Raq's

Yes.. and No.. to a No-No..

I had purchased a Raq4R from Cobalt as New for a dealer demo and it has been
a lemon from the get go.. drive failures.. data corruption issues..
(??controller problems??) and on and on. Basically it fell apart just out
of warrantee.

Personally one of the best boxes I have is a used Raq3i that we picked up
replaced the standard CPU with a 500 MHz one and jumpered the CPU socket to
run faster and converted it into a Raq4R.

Not only does it run all of the 4R pkgs.. it runs faster than the 4R's and
has been rock solid.

Personally if you can pick up used Raq3i's for $300-450 I don't consider
that a bad deal especially if you go into it expecting to replace fans, hard
drives.

Just my personal opinion though..

Jerry

Do they state these are NOS (new old stock), in the original box? These
might be previous servers. That would be a big no-no, similar to buying a
car that was a rental for some time.
