[cobalt-users] DNS Problems

I am getting some strange messages in my log files

sysquery: findns error (NXDOMAIN) on host.domain.com

I searched the archives to no avail

also I get this message when I try to nslookup:

[root log]# nslookup
*** Can't find server name for address xx.xxx.xxx.xx: Non-existent
host/domain
*** Can't find server name for address xx.xxx.xxx.xx: Non-existent
host/domain
*** Default servers are not available

I have named running on both the cobalts, the 1st one is the primary and
it shows the zone files loaded ok, the secondary one loads the slave zones
ok but it does not seem to be resolving

on the primary

named 2768 1 0 23:19 ? 00:00:00 named -u named

on the secondary it is

named 3192 1 0 23:12 ? 00:00:00 named -u named

I have the ip's set in the /etc/hosts file
there are a records for both the boxes in the dns config

I am at a loss
