I've got some troubles with the login of users throught ftp. For several domains I've an administrator user who can navigate in the website tree. When I am doing FTP in local (from the cobalt into the cobalt) everything works fine, but when I try to connect from an external machine I've a "connection reset by peer" as soon as proftpd has accepted the password. If I connect from the external machine throught ftp with the admin account everything works fine too. What's the deal ?
Are you going through any type of firewall? Are you using PASV mode (passive mode)? Are you using the same connection for the admin account as the others, that is, can one have PASV mode set and the other not set? With our firewalls PASV mode doesn't work but non PASV will. With the PASV mode, we get as far as a good logon then things bomb out, so it can appear at first to be working.
Just a thought, Jale
