It should not stay at loading kernel foe more than a few moments.
It sounds like it losing the network connection.
Are you using it through a hub or switch?
Try cross over cable, or diff hub or switch.
I find a dumb 10/100MB hub works better than a switch YMMV
You may either have a hard disk or RAM problems.
If you can swap them out and try again
