You might try changing network parameters (change something relatively
insignificant, like the hostname, that won't affect your current
connection) and then change it back.
This might rebuild it.
If not, then I don't have an answer; twice when we had similar problems
and the network parameters change and change-back didn't fix it, we
found out later the boxes were hacked.
