Hello...
This is a followup to my previous question, I've found no way around it after days of mucking around with apache configs. About the only thing I haven't done is manually recompile apache on the box, which I'm sure isn't recommended (the web interface would fall over itself, right?)
I've spoken to a few people today via ICQ who have contacted me after seeing the post below, reporting the same problem. One was using an XTR, the others were using a RaQ3.
Does the version of apache on the cobalts support the extended .htaccess stuff? Is this intentional? Is there anyway I can get this to work? At the moment a bunch of scripts I was running on another server flawlessly are now completely useless to me on the Cobalt.
Any responses welcomed...

| Hey there.
| I've developed a MySQL+PHP based CMS which uses a .htaccess file to change various options in Apache - I've chosen to do this because there's many things I don't want globally, but only to apply to the site. This functions perfectly on two boxes in my home running apache (FreeBSD 4.6 & Linux 2.4).
| The cobalt XTR however, won't have anything to do with it.
| There's a bunch of RewriteRule's, ErrorDocument's, AddType's, and <IfModule mod_php4.c> stuff in the file. However, I get a "500 Internal Server Error" when this .htaccess file is in place.
| I've tried adding a <Directory> tag for the directory in concern into the Cobalt XTR's httpd.conf, with "AllowOverride All" in it, but this doesn't appear to have any effect whatsoever.
| /var/log/httpd/error on the cobalt shows "/home/sites/site13/web/.htaccess: RewriteRule not allowed here".
| I'm completely stuffed on how to solve this one, AllowOverride all should have worked...
| Any ideas?

| (Maybe its because the site's number 13... grin...)
