Hi Yah,
Right the tar.gz problem that I had :(
Pulled a random tar off of the backup server onto the server into a temp
folder did a tar -xzvf group-www.domainname.com and viola all the correct
files and folders were there.
Now it's slightly off topic now but on both a Windows 2000 & Win98 SE using
winzip and winrar I can open the tar.gz, see the tar but only one folder
and the folder varies.
What I then did was download PentaZip for Win2000 cause I thought there
maybe an issue with the WinZip & WinRar with NTFS...
Downloaded some random tar.gz's off of the backup server (in binary), the
first one opened okay and tra-lla could see all the web site files. Opened
up the next one and could see the majority of the files but the likes of
index.html etc were missing, opened up another, again the vast majority of
files could be seen but some were still not showing. Then the final one all
files were there...
Could it be that the software on the RaQ used for creating the tar.gz's and
tar's is an old version and it's causing some problems with the newer
software???
Can I update it to the latest version???
What files or version would I be looking for (still not up to play on Linux
systems yet)??
If renewing this will it screw up the raq or any dependant files??
Many thanks in advance
Chae
