Not sure what is the limit on Raq3 OS but we have Raq3's with Raq4 OS at 20 and another at 40 gig. You may want to search the archives from a few days ago, Gerald had posted information about disk sizes and fdisk I believe.
Just been through this, I put 20gig drives in my RAQ3i, no problems (except physical, see below). I believe the outcome of research was that the RAQ3i supported 30gig max, probably 32-33, but that means a 30gig drive.
Physical - the RAQ3i mother board does not have a missing pin in the middle of the IDE connector, like is standard. In the middle of the night, we had to use a sharp cutter to modify our IDE cable to be able to plug into the mother board.
Also, the drives are opposite one another, not on top, so the connectors are facing opposite directions. I found if I turned the cable around, so the 2 close connectors went from the mother board to drive 0, the long side had enough length to make a clean twist. Another trick, use an ATA100 cable, instead of having 40 fat wires (I think 40, doesn't matter), they have 80 thin ones, they make the twist easier and the drives will work fine with them.
If you don't have the spare drive bracket, you can sit the 2nd drive in upside down, it has no place to slide, it sits between the bends in the metal that hold the bracket, and with the drive upside down the electronics stay cool. Still I recommend a bracket (Brandon has them if you need one, cbtrussell at hotmail com).
