The test Qube3 was a business edition with 1 x HDD.
The only test I did was replacing the single drive, and using the original
ide cable.
I agree that the heat generated by a 7200rpm drive is more, but the only
other source of heat in the unit is the cpu, and at 450mhz - it is not
exactly pumping it out.
If I thought I would be running in this configuration, or in fact with 2
7200rpm drives, I would probably use the thin ide cables - which provide
superior performance anyway.
I have been looking at the website www.silentpc.com.au - they have an
excellent array of quiet gear (for those super geeks who run these in their
livingroom ;-)
There is a 60mm to 80mm adapter there which might be interesting, although
looking at the box, it is probably too big.
Cooling is an issue if you replace your 5400rpm drive/s with 2x7200rpm
drives, although I haven't noticed much of an increase in temp with 1 x
7200rpm drive.
