If the account has a maximum of 20Gb per 31 day month then:
20Gb == 20,000 Mb == 20,000,000 Kb
In every 31 days there are:
2,678,400 Seconds == 31 days * 24 hours * 60 minutes * 60 seconds
So your Kb/s limit should be set to:
20,000,000 Kb / 2,678,400 s = 7.461 Kb/s
Note: While this restricts the total bandwidth usage per month, it does
also prevent the account from ever serving more than 7.461 kb/s
You should check the usage patterns, as you'll probably find that at
certain points it exceeds this, and other times it doesn't...
Best,
Kam.
Hi all,
I have a customer that has an account of maximum 20 GB datatransfer /
month So (web, ftp and mail) This person is ALLWAYS far above this
quota, ant does not want to pay for extra consumed datatransfer. He's on
1 IP address, so I can set him up for a limit of bandwidth, yes ? Now my
question:
The servers are on a T1 line, but howmuch (in kbp/s bandwidth) must I
set him up on his IP ?
Let's say he uses 24/24 h a bandwidth of 40kbp/s .
Howmuch has he consumed (GB's) a month then ?
Is there a program for it, or a simple formula ?
Thank you all to look into my problem
Bob
