I could not disagree more. I have Webmin on my RAQ3 that I installed
from a .pkg that was up ay cobalt-aid.sourceforge.net (which is gone
now, any one know what happened or if those files are up aomewhere
else?). It is a life saver for a newbie. Yes, you are correct that it
should not be used to replace the cobalt UI functions (adding sites,
dns, users, should all be done in cobalt ui still), but it is invaluable
for other functions. Built in MySQL admin ability, sendmail functions
that make is easy to check a users mailbox and delete a big attachment
if requested, add cron jobs easily, restart services, kill running
processes, and I could go on and on with useful functions that it does
in an easy GUI. Combine that with the fact that it is easy to install,
and can be updated from the web without any advanced user knowledge I
think Webmin is the best tool on my server.
Did a bunch of goggle searching and found a new version of the package
at the new cobalt aid II, http://cobalt-aid2.lindist.dk/modules.php, for
some reason it is not listed under the Raq3 that I saw so do a search
for "webmin" (without the quotes) in the download area.
